Russian Defense Min plans to sign new deal for Il-76-MD-90A in 2019
MOSCOW, Dec 18 (PRIME) -- The Russian Defense Ministry will sign a contract for heavy military transport planes Il-76-MD-90A in 2019, Deputy Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said in an interview to the magazine Oborona Rossii, published on Wednesday.
The previous 140 billion ruble agreement for 39 planes, signed in 2012, was miscalculated and caused a loss of 1 billion rubles to the producer during manufacturing of each Il-76-MD-90A.
“The price of an Il-76-MD-90A series plane for 2021–2027 will be defined at the end of 2019 in accordance with the applicable proceedings during the signing of a new state contract for the supply of planes of this type for the needs of the Defense Ministry of Russia,” Krivoruchko said.
The ministry has already received three Il-76-MD-90A and plans to get two more in 2019.
